My Former Biscayne is on Ebay

I guess we will see if he can flip it for a profit.  Good ad, though not completely honest.  No mention of it being a tribute car.  And, it is not an original California car.

I saw that early this morning and was wondering if it was yours. Looks great. They advertised it with a 427. I thought your car had a 454.

Are you planning on replacing it with something?

Jim

It had a 454 when I got it, I put the L72 in it. I still have our '53 Studebaker and that will be our classic car. For now at least.

Now the rest of the story... This seller is not the one I sold it to, he sold it along with 2 other cars to raise money for another car he is hoping to buy. A Ferrari!

Auction ended at $16,000. Slightly less than it brought when I put it on EBay. I guess that is the market for that car. Pretty disappointing.

So, the story continues. After the auction ended I sent a message to the seller introducing myself as a previous owner with lot of information on the car. If you ever watched the Discovery Channel show called "Lords of the Car Hoards," he happens to be "Joe The Hat" featured on the program. He has a show room in Scottsdale, AZ. He bought it from the guy I sold it to at an auction that took place before the big auctions that happen every January. He and I have been messaging back and forth, he sold the car yesterday for $32k, The buyer was a walk in customer that was in town for the auctions. Timing is everything. I told him to pass my contact info to the buyer if he wants as I would like to keep track of the car. So I guess for the right buyer, a decent price can happen.

Yep, timing is everything and having the right exposure at the right time.

Hopefully she does not get flipped over and over as many seem to do.

Thanks for sharing Pat.

Oh wow I liked that show and that guy. Wish the show was still on, might catch a glimpse here and there of the Biscayne

Wow that’s quite a story. I had been watching it on eBay once I saw what you posted about it on here . Hoping it has gone to a great home where someone will appreciate it with the passion you had for it Pat.
