hey guys,

my name is Yann and I’m from Quebec, Canada. After 15 years of waiting I was finally lucky enough to purchase this survivor unrestored (Canadian east coast car!!!) 1969 300deluxe post-sedan Chevelle last spring.  Stored each winters for the last 50 years. All numbers matching fast and loud 250cid backed by a powerglide. A local lady bought the car new in april of ‘69 and kept it until few years ago when she passed away at age 82. An old friend of her kept the car up until now.

My dad tried to buy it many times since 2004-2005, when we first discovered it. She always answered him “I bought my Chevelle new and I will die with it” and thats pretty much what she did. She was an old maid and she was a little bit rude at first and it’s perfect that way, thats why she kept the car all those years.

She became more friendly with my father over the years, he was visiting her 1-2 times each summer to see if she had changed her mind. She never changed her mind. Back in 2004 I was 14 years old and I was always thinking about that survivor Chevelle, hoping that my dad get it one day.

Her friend who inherited the car known of my father, probably because he was one of the most persistent guy of all the guys that wanted to buy her car, lol.

After she passed away it took a few years before I found him. It happened last spring (may 2018), I contacted him and told him the long story and that if he wanted to sell the car at some point, to call me. So 3-4 months later he contacted me, saying he wanted to work something out with me, he wanted to sell the car, for a fair deal, to me only. He didn’t wanted to sell the car to anybody else, he wanted it to be preserved and with peoples who known the original owner.  It will always be Yvette’s Chevelle, we are just caretakers.

Sadly, the factory rubber flooring have been replaced by a regular black carpet way back. Alternator has been changed but I have the factory one. Also the factory mirror has been stolen somewhere in the 80s. I have all the paperworks, POP, second set of keys never used, bill of sales, dealer receipts, etc. I’d say the paint is 50-60% factory. The car look great in pictures but it have a whole lot of dings and dents, gives it caracter.

Tires where done and I’m a big « day 2 » fan so I blacked out a set of Centerlines I had so they look like steelies from 5 foot to keep the « poverty » look.

I mostly bought it as a surprise for my father but I must confess that I take it a LOT!! The car run like new and the fuel efficiency is...lets say...a little bit better than my other ‘69 big block..

How many Miles/Kilometers on the odometer. That interior looks as day1 except for the carpet as you mentioned. Are you sure the carpet was installed later. I believe it could have been ordered back in the day as my 69 also has an original carpet but don't have any history on it.
