It's not a good idea to run w/o a thermostat. The back of the block can heat up and have problems. I suggest you gut the the thermostat of the tower, spring and valve and put the main plate back in for a restriction.

Just got back from Carquest with a new T stat. This one looks a ton better than the chinaman unit. Plus theres a "jiggle valve" on it What the heck is that for? Anyway Kinky Friedman got me this time... hecho en Israel. Drpped the tank yesterday too. Ordered a new one for 72.00 including the truck PLUS a new sending unit in stainless for 32.00. We are on the road to perdition. No darn build sheet either.  Bill

Hey guys.. desperately seeking some sheet metal parts for the back end of my 1964 Buick Special. The way the stuff is crunched will never look right packed with bondo. I need the rear valance (whole or pieces) and a chunk of the passenger side rear quarter panel. Any ideas or leads are appreciated! Thanks! Bill in Two Rivers, Wi yachtsman36@charter.netz61.jpg

Thanks guys! Thought this place folded up! Ben driving all over town now, hoodless, but fun anyways. Just bought a "LOT" off of ebay. This guy inherited his FILs house, and the FIL had restored and stocked up on 64 almost NOS parts.

A bit pricey, but now its MY turn LOL... Pretty sure Im gonna be able to source the tin locally. Bill

www.ebay.com/itm/113803713759 Let me know if this shows up...

The new tag is due in this week.... BADLASS to match the 72 XGS BAD LAD. Im on the wifes crack top, since my desktop died 2 days ago. New one should be up and running today I hope!

Yeah... I know itll make the BADLASS a morphydite, but I do have the nice Skylark lower rocker panels too. Itll also help cover up the repair job with little or no Bondo. Nice shiny tail light buckets and some brite trim... heck its a no brainer. Just wait till she's painted.. Gonna put her in a poodle skirt with saddle shoes... That's for us old timers here LOL...

BTW... This thred is getting linked to a new post up above... It went a long way in parts wanted so even I can hardly find it...  Bill
