I think they were pretty common- usually with a straight 6 in front of them.

My Uncle bought a new 1965 Biscayne 4 door 6 cylinder /3 on the tree. He was tight with a buck and felt he got more value with the 4 door. V8 two doors, 3 on the tree were way lower numbers.

We had a 67 Biscayne wagon while I was in Germany, 6 cylinder 3 on the tree. My buddy and I bought it together to drive while we were working on our primary cars. Painted it Rustoleum primer brown with a brush and roller, including the back side windows. Patched the rusty floor so it would pass inspection. It was pretty indestructible, a great tank.

In 1972 I had an L72 427 Biscayne 2DR Sedan with a fully synchro 3spd column shifted M13. Only one I ever saw, but stats tell me there were a handful. It was ordered locally. Apparently the 3 Spd was the base choice and the 4 Spd was an option. He thought he ordered an auto. From what I have read, the L72 was not available with an automatic in 1966. Mine came with a dark blue exterior and a beige interior. I painted it copper and installed a Hurst syncro loc on the floor. That car is the reason I love big Chevy's to this day.
