Thanks Kevin,my car will probably not ever be too original but it might be interesting to see some documentation of what it was.

I have dealt with George for both my cars. A real gentleman, and very knowledgable. A pleasure to speak with as well.

I recently started experimenting with some rubbing compound on the paint and for 42 year old battered paint it cleans up pretty nice!  I just did a small area at the rear of the passenger rear quarter panel.  Also been bringing non functional lights back to life, corrosion in the sockets are the main culprit, plus a few unbolted grounds found and a few missing,/ incorrect bulbs here and there.

So, what do my Chevelle and my 2007 GMC Sierra extended cab 4x4 have in common?   They were BOTH built in Oshawa, Canada!  I'm going thru my original documentation on my truck since I'm putting it up for sale, and I just happened to glance at the "Parts Content Information" sticker that I got when I bought it new. It says Final Assembly Point: Oshawa, ON Canada.   Oshawa, thanks twice!!

Amazing what a bit of wax can do on old paint. Ya those bumpers got heavy '73-'77. The ones with the shocks are very heavy and also very strong. Bumpers you can bump with for sure.lol

I've been a busy boy, so far I've:

Replaced battery, alternator, tail light sockets and bulbs, courtesy lamp and dome lamps, plate lamp, neutral safety start switch, back up lamp switch, welded broken  lock on swivelseat lever (to prevent rotation while driving), replaced trans mount, reinstalled factory under hood struts, charcoal cannister, fixed passenger door light switch, oil filter, installed date correct exhaust manifolds and factory style complete dual exhaust, reinstalled factory key reminder buzzer, plus aforementioned paint buffing (ongoing) and paint touch ups around back.   Front suspension checks out good, good wheel bearings, ball joints and steering components, did fresh lube job.  replaced fuel.pump.  Set timing correct and idle speed.  Car runs and drives good, except

Sorry, had to take a breath. Except there is a bad clutch shudder. I think I need to bite the bullet and replace the clutch pressure plate t.o. bearing pilot bushing and resurface flywheel. NAPA sells a nice kit that includes all that for around 300 or 350, did that on the Buick and it worked out well.

I scored some NOS front bumper guards for my Chevelle (originally came with them per RPO V30) and of course I had to mount them!  Soon to come are the factory correct centercaps instead of what's on them now.  Then to find correct trim rings (it has Pontiac trim rings on it now which are in good shape but completely wrong).  My quality inspector out front approves in the 2nd photo smile

Nice piece of property you have there. Are those the stock rims for that car?
Somewhere there's a jealous Astro Van, or late '70's Nova.

Thanks Lawrence! Yeah we definitely bought at the right time 2 years ago. The piece of property might get a little smaller if Sunoco Pipeline gets their way but that's a story for another day.

The wheels are correct. 73 SS got those 6 vent 14x7 wheels and wide oval G70-14 raised white letter tires. But the centers and trim rings on my car aren't correct. Here is a pic of the correct center cap (only have one original that was in the trunk)

Here is correct center cap.  On dark colored cars the SS stripes and wheel centers got light argent paint, whereas light color cars got a darker charcoal color stripes, wheel and centercaps.
