NO. I hate clear coat on a gas tank......this tank was one of my gas tanks that I have had for over a decade in my parts storage.

Looks amazing! Are you keeping the L88 at full 12.5-1 compression? What are your plans for fuel?

Thanks Pat! Once a true L88 - always a true L88. We plan on keeping it true 12.5 Next week.....disassemble the rest of the block. Pull the numbers off the cam. We suspect it had a much bigger cam than stock. Once this build is complete.....I will rebuild the original born with engine (L35) and trans (MC1 - 3 Speed) as this Chevelle will be much more valuable as a complete born-with unit. This way when the car is to be Sold the new owner will have an option of buying everything as is or buying the complete rebuilt all original drivetrain If we ever run out of gas for the L88 - I will do as they did in Mad Max

Dan, What did you use to coat the inside of the block, just a basic primer colored paint?
