Very nice.....I am a big fan of heater delete. I have built several cars with Heater Delete, plus the heater delete plates I currently have and have used are factory GM plates....not repops. It matters to me.

I say go for it.

Great pictures

Dan

I have been thinking of doing the same, but decided to keep it just in case a beautiful fall day is a bit crispy, I can have heat when needed.

Our winters here ARE pretty mild compared to some places you Fellas live, therefor we keep our cars out longer as long as we know it will be a dry sunny day.

Heck, we are still cutting our lawns in December...LOL

Heater delete complete! I also removed the power steering and went with a manual box, not bad with small skinny tires. Grand total of 80 lbs removed (mostly off the front).IMG_20160726_200649_859[1].jpgIMG_20160726_200731_277[1].jpg

Took the 300 to Texas Motorplex this weekend to try out an event that I might get into thats called, TMCCC (texas muscle car club challenge) they have about 6 events thru the year on various tracks and this was the last one for the year. They compete, club against club for points and at the end of the season the club with the most points wins prizes and stuff. Great group of guys all having fun at the dragstrip. I even met a guy that remembered my 300 from superchevy sunday about seven years ago! Its kinda a long haul (6+hours) for me, but I had a blast and would definitely do it again. Now if you have kept up, I just recently ran in Albuqueque with a best off the trailer of 12.30s 106mph.After all the work I did recently I felt I might had slowed it down some.Altitude makes loads of difference! Alb track elevation 5295  Motorplex at 515 ft. Here we go! 2 jets bigger in the holley and first run 11.51 @121!!! And another grin worthy note on this pass was the car in the other lane was a Hellcat Challenger. I'm car 483gm in the left lane.IMG_20161031_105125_328[1].jpg

Way to go!! Was that your best slip of the day? Who ever has that yellow Camaro is a hell of a bracket racer! That many Dead On Dial stickers, plus Perfect Reaction Times is awesome! That car is dialed in! That circuit sounds like a lot of fun, keep us posted if you plan to continue racing it.

PS - See if you can get on the yellow Camaro's team!

Pat

That was my best 1/4 mile time. My speed put me in a class that ran 1/8 mile. My best 1/8 time was the 7.44 on my first pass until I ran eliminations and out of the blue it runs 7.39@96mph so I lost with a breakout. I wish I could have got a 1/4 time on that run! I did this on 255/60 drag radials ! And all the dead on dial stickers on the yellow camaro were impressive.

ALOT of changes have happened recently and I thought I would catch up with you all. First off,if you didn't see my carnage picture of my tko 600, it was ugly. The countershaft tried to leave the area and took out the case! After some long thought,I decided it would be cheaper and easier on the car to run an automatic,(turbo 400) .This car has always been a manual since I put it together in "02".Sad to see it go, but excited for something different! I now have a ATI full manual 400 with a COAN 10 inch converter. I only have about 5 miles on it so far but it snowed this weekend ! EWW. anyway I am happy with it so far, and it acts like a completly different car. Also,I have added a fiberglass flat hood for some more weight reduction and Mickey Thompson just started offering the ET STREET R drag radial in a 275 60 size, so I had to get those too! Alot of forums about performance talk about starting line ratio (SLR). first gear ratio times rearend ratio. If you have alot of torque you want a lower SLR or you will just spin because of too much gear ratio. With my tko 600 my SLR was 10.70, on the high side but do-able. With the 400 my SLR is 9.25. This might help with my traction problem! Can't wait to see how this has effected my car!IMG_20170325_155916_719[1].jpgIMG_20170217_115222_339[1].jpgIMG_20170430_204056_907[1].jpgIMG_20170430_153321_747[1].jpgIMG_20170430_153513_336[1].jpg

Car will be more consistent with the automatic.....not quite as fun but consistency is key to winning races.

I always love to see manual transmissions in drag cars. There sure aren't many of them any more. That said, you will be much more consistent. I love the use of a flat hood. I wasn't sure they actually made flat fiberglass hoods. Pretty cool.

Love the new hood and it's all nice and painted to match, so many folks around here never paint their fiberglass hood (thought the idea was to blend in while saving weight not stick out :)) Also love the new avatar!
