Love the interior....just look at that Beauty! That front nose....looks a lot like the Hollywood Glamour ladies that have their lips injected

Why was it popular to take these cars out on dirt roads during their road tests? I have seen quite a few 50s and 60s tests that did that. Makes no sense to me.

A short story from back in the day; a buddy of mine used to live on a farm and rode the school bus back and forth to/from school 5 times a week. The road to the farm crossed a set of CPR tracks and one day the bus was nearly hit by a train. My buddy Bill told his Dad that if wanted him to go to school any more he wasn't going to ride on the bus....ever again.

So his Dad goes to the GM dealer and buys Bill a car....a yellow 67 Pontiac Firebird with the SOHC six. If I remember correctly, I think it was a 4 speed... my memory is a little fuzzy going back 48 years. It was a real cool car and in all of my 15 years on earth I had never seen a SOHC engine before.

I don't suppose there was much left of the car after Bill was finished with it....he drove it like he stole it. The guy was crazy...but somehow has managed to survive to this day?
