One step forward, and two steps back...it was depressing enough that I had to hire a new guy to finish the body and paint, then discover that all the hard work I put into the drivetrain and chassis was left exposed to the elements.  Not sure how long, at least a month.  Dirt, overspray and oxidation on everything.  Even when I told him to take care of those parts, he didn't.  Don't think it going to the new shop soon, which is also depressing.  Going to take at least 2 weeks to break as much of it down as possible, probably elevation the body off for a 3rd time too just to be thorough.

See previous page for "BEFORE" pics.

That’s a shame that a guy has no respect for the work that was already done by you. What a Richard Cranium.

Car has been home for 5 days now. It’s been 2 hours every night removing items and cleaning everything. Nuts, bolts, brackets, wiring...the body will be coming off a 3rd time to make it right again. The new shop is 20 minutes away. Car will be trailered there, body will be lifted off and put on a body dolly. Chassis and drivetrain will come back home to get cleaned up. As if I don’t have other things to do.

I forgot to mention that it was stored in some suspect locations. Probably outside for a short time, but what’s worse is the smell. Rodents crawled and pissed on the engine and car. This is turn caused plenty of corrosion on certain parts, removed paint and stunk up my garage.

Dropped off at Vescio’s in Rogers, MN tonight. They can knock it out in no time.

I’m glad you found a reputable shop to deal with. Hope to see this move quickly now. I really have a deep appreciation for post body Pontiacs and can’t wait to see how yours looks. Thanks for the update

The chassis and body have been separated for a 3rd time.  Body is at the shop, the chassis at my house to be cleaned AGAIN!  Don't know where he kept it, but it wasn't good.  With the body off, I can get all the filth off of it from being neglected for 3 years.  What an a$$.  Treating people's property like crap...says a lot about what he thinks of everyone.  No respect whatsoever.  He should never touch anyone's car ever.

3.5 years of bull$hit from the previous painter.

The new one hit the ground running. Some of the old work is holding but not all.

I planned for the worst where it had to be completely stripped.  It’ll be hit and miss.386A5D6D-5A35-446B-A230-42824EB91637.jpeg

Looks like the car is off to a good start on finally getting the body done and painted. It’s frustrating dealing with broken promises and in your case even worse. Getting the car back in need of more work.

After 3 weeks of me chipping away at the chassis and the body shop grinding on the body, things area taking shape...yes, it's quite costly, but I ain't getting any younger and it's time to wrap this project up after 18 years of waiting for the day it sees the road again.

Last week the body was re-attached to the frame, this week the front clip was pre-fit.  First time fenders and a hood have been on the car in 18 years!
