Whoops, I said safety but I think it's actually the RIV inspection and I believe the car has to be safetied to have that inspection. At least that is how it was in Manitoba in 2002 when I imported that 94 Impala that I did the 6 speed conversion on. It was a write off and I had to put on a quarter panel and tail panel, get the body integrity inspection done and the RIV paperwork done within one year.

I think I might disagree with that "more door" not being a good choice to help build this project. I'm seeing quite a bit of usable stuff on that car.....front clip, bumpers, dash, drivetrain, harnesses, and maybe even the frame if a certified, competent welder is available. I've seen frames stretched on trucks, so why couldn't this one be shortened and boxed or plated in the splice area? I see GM A-body frames for sale from time to time, so they are out there. This could/would be a fun and economical project for a hobbyist with a lot of energy and IMO wouldn't require a second mortgage...…..

I was at the Dick Miller Norwalk race (now Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac) and I saw this body on a trailer for sale. There was a Lady there so I didn't stop to talk about it. I don't think it sold.
