I'd have to agree with you on that Dan. I'm sure I told you about my buddy Alan who has the L78 300 hardtop. He bought one of these plenum air cleaners 15 years ago or so here in Fredericton. Went to look at some other parts and the guy had one of these new still in the box. He bought it for $50... Here's a pic.

$50.....OMG, what a lucky car guy. Good for him

Tell him to get some correct Heater Hoses, correct Master Cylinder, correct Exhaust Manifolds and Complete Smog System.
Is that Azure Turquoise?
That is One great 1969 SS396 L78 300 Deluxe Coupe Chevelle!

That sure is a beautiful chevelle and a not so often seen color, in fact, you might see 1000 red/blue cars to this 1 turquoise model.
I'm not a fan of returning every musclecar to it's original state. What draws me in is the unique tastes of the owner, as long as it hasn't compromised the original beauty.

Coope, I agree with you. Most people "back-in-the-day" made changes to suit their taste and planned use of the car. Hence the popularity of Day 2 cars. No two were alike but many were similar. I do admire completely original cars but tend to be drawn more to period modified cars.

I only offer my opinion to stock conditions.....to only cars that I believe should be stock.....as this Chevelle is super rare (the color), I would even go as far as to say....that she may very well be the only Canadian 300 Deluxe L78 Coupe in this Color.....I only say they should be stock, as this Chevelle is certainly up there in the higher pedigree and or higher price range of Chevelles....so much that it is certainly much more valuable being 100% stock. These are the facts.
Barry, please Share my opinion with the owner.
In fact, I would say....this car needs to be off the road or a museum piece.....as you could not replace it, if she was destroyed.

That is one fine 300. what a pleasure it must be driving around in it.

There was a 69 SS 396 ragtop in that color when I was in high school. I think I was the only one who liked that color.

thanks for posting the photos.
