Entirely possible I'll be there. We...the company will be for sure in Hot Rod Alley. My father who you met at MCACN will probably be there too. He's a roadie for us...tough retirement gig for a hot rodder!

Ya, he really enjoyed visiting with you!

SEMA is a double edged sword, as is any show! Getting paid to go to car shows isn't all it's cracked up to be! Usually don't get a lunch break because it's sooooo busy, usually don't get to walk around much and take in the cars. It is work standing on your feet for 10+ hours a day talking to customers non stop. I'm not complaining...could be digging ditches my grandpa always said!

The flip side...i do get to drink beer with the likes of Dave Kindig, Kevin, Randy from Painthouse of TX, GAP Racing, the infamous Delmo who builds some killer trucks. So...i guess it isn't all that bad....i retract what i said above!

Justin,

I have been in your shoes....I work many shows for Pit Pal Products.....at PRI, Barrett-Jackson, various Super Chevy`s, and at various NHRA events.....I know how grueling it can be, long days and no breaks....but free means

But you are correct.....there is a nice flip side

Dan

l am just asking as I am curious. Can the general public get in. I was under the impression they can not.

It would be a bucket list of shows to attend.

The SEMA Show is a trade-only industry event; it is not open to the general public. However, if you are an employee of a company that is qualified to attend the show, log onto www.SEMAShow.com and click on "Attend Show."

You can surely go and surely attend.....find out what company is attending in your network or a company near you, ask them to buy you a ticket and that you would pay them whatever the fee is and offer to proudly wear one of there shirts or hats the entire time.

If you really want to go....you will find a way to go. Make it happen

Understood. it is on the bucket list in coming years. Have a room booked for PSMCDRs and MCACN.

I was able to go in 2010, I was a member of SEMA SAN, a grass roots element of SEMA working to preserve the car hobby. They offered entry for a day if you would do reviews of new products that were featured at the show and post pictures and comments on social media. I signed up for it, but sent them a note that I was not going to travel to Las Vegas just for one day at the show, they went ahead and gave me credentials for the whole show. I was able to cross it off my bucket list and met up with a number of folks I only knew on-line before. As Dan said, credentials can be had by connecting with vendors who are going, check with your local shops and see who has a connection. Best advice I can offer is wear comfortable shoes!

I'm sure you guys will be able to make it so you can attend. My wife and I went last year and had a blast. Automotive overload. Never seen anything like it!

I have been to both, and they are spectacular, bucket list events for sure. But if I had to pick only one, it would be SEMA just on the sheer volume and variety of things to see. Plus, it's Vegas Baby!

Enjoy either way.
