1966 Bel Air Rear Seat
Permalink

Is the rear seat back the same for a Bel Air as a 4-door Impala?  In other words, a 4-door Impala rear seat back doesn't have the speaker in the middle of it, does it?  I am looking into a '66 Bel Air, and the seat covers are not the best.  Bel Air seat covers are not reproduced as far as I can tell, so I am wondering if Impala covers will work.  If so, I would then have to see if I can get a two door Impala front seat cover with a 4 door Impala rear seat cover.

I would use Biscayne covers, but the car is Artesian Turquoise with a Medium Turquoise interior.  The door panels are good, so replacing the whole thing with a Fawn Biscayne interior is not really feasible.

Any insight y'all can provide is appreciated.

SMS sells the seat material for '66 Bel Air
Buy all the material needed and have a local upholstery shop properly install the seat material. This is what I do with all the cars I restore, when seat covers are not available.

Thanks for the lead, Dan.  Is their turn-around time faster for shipping material than it is for making door panels?

I was just going through some posts.
Brad. If you had material there is a good shop in Aurora. They did the interior on the Skylark. They searched out the material and the finished product is nice. The previous owner had them done.
That shop is well known.

Some info on rear seat. Belair/biscayne 2 dr rear seat back is same framework as impala 4dr and belair/biscayne 4 dr. The rear seat bottom is belair/biscayne 2dr only. 4dr has rounded off corners to make entry/exit more easy by about 6 inches or so. Impala 2dr rear seat bottom wont fit as it's too narrow due to the arm rest part that goes down to floor.

No problem. I believe the '67 2 dr post seat bottom is a direct fit as well.
