How did I miss this thread. That is Kool. Not many of those around I bet. Share some details.
Love the Expo 67 plate. Rare on its own

i bought the Beaumont in April 1983 , it s been arround for a while

this is how it goes i was at my local town hall to pay a traffic violation and i had noticed the 2 door plain Beaumont parked in the town hall parking every day

i was 19 by then drove a 66 Biscayne made from a 65 and a 66 and heading to college ( cegep here in Québec ) as i enter the town hall i inquire about that Beaumont in the parking lot , and a lady rises and

says this car is hers , she got it from her inlaws that pssed in 79 and it was a rusted beatter

i asked if it was for sale with those neat olds hi back bucket seats and some school bus seat vinyl to replace the rubber floor mat .

we aggred for 300.00 and i had to change the fly Wheel that was stripped .

so i drove the car for a full year and put it away in the spring of 84 by a barn and in the summer started to slowly work on it in a handy andy way in my dada garage in the summer

by redoing the body over the years and changing the passenger side quarter in 85 it was slowly coming along but i was in college 300 miles from home but would

bring the car with me where i lived in Jonquière and would occasionnaly work on it

it had it s first repaint in 1988 and was looking good but the painter missed on his mix and the saddle color came out green but kept it that way and the 283 was

stock 2 barrel with duals cut to the diff.

arround 1989 i blew a brake line in the rear and was starting my business so i parked the car at my sisters cottage outside for a couple of years

brought it back in 91 but not doing much on it but driving it once in a while , but it was slowly falling a part

arround 2003 i decides to have the whole body done by cutting the rust and patching with body glue and had another repaint again by an amateur........

i guess i was cheap back then..... but it came out not to bad a 10 footer let s say

in 2010 i get mad and tear out the floor from the rear bumper to the pedals and take the frame off and now i was showing less cheapness if i can say

i find a bench seat , find a rear seat because i had a nova seat i bought back in 85 to replace the Beaumont seat that had torn cloth......

i found orig rubber mat from a member on c p and repaint my new floor board Under and Inside and the post cat was getting solid as hell, also replaced the Wheel houses ( ext )

and another rear quarter and trunk drop offs

in 2012 i pull out the 283 and brought it to a Buddy for a complete rebuild .10 over and lowered the heads performer manifold 600 cfm Holley carb and other

détails i forget, lumpy cam and she runs nice brand new 2.5 inch exaust. P G and stall are all rebuilt also it s fun to push her in 2 nd at 80 mph at about 5800 rpm

so over those years im am doing it bit by bit and i am in the process to get the interior done but a base interior ( chevelle 300 style ) is not reproduced so

it takes time and patience but i got my int panels from s m s took 8 months or so and i have my n os cloth and vinyl to get my seats covered and on the look for

different interior stuf like a package tray ( they sent me the wrong one last summer ) got my window felts head liner trim and miscellaneos int itms to put in like the head liner next spring

once that is done a complete body job ( front fenders to redo and the doors ) the rest is fine got a replacement chevelle ( not a repop) Hood to metal all repainted and same for the trunck , a nice rust free trunk i got from a Buddy.

new bumper in the rear , gas tank and sending unit straps and so much more....all the Under body has been repainted with P O R

i will just need suspention work like shocks and stabilisers links i have to install

i would like to find some 14 x 7 inch steelies for the rear tu put on my 225 70 14 in the rear

brand new Wind shield and cowl plate installed a couple of years ago

so that s about it a lot of nicks and nacks to do and i will be done in a year or two....but i said that 5 years ago also

and the 67 plate is just one out of my 1951 / 1979 collection.

i remember my cousin picking up a perfect 69 Newport with a little rust and probably a faulty mopar trans for 200

perfect heavy winter boat ..... you felt safe in that lounge if you had a winter crash

Louis,

I purchased a 1970 Impala Custom, Fathom Blue, 327, T350 Trans for $100.00 cash in 1982.....drove it as my winter beater, drove it to Spring Break in Florida and sold it for $400.00....those were the days!

While we were in Germany in 1975 my buddy Ron and I went together and bought 67 Biscayne wagon 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree for $200. We each drove it while we rebuilt the motors in our good cars. It was rusty, to get through inspection, Ron held his foot over the hole in the floor during the inspection. We painted it Rustoleum primer brown with a roller and a brush and even painted over the back side windows. We also used it as a get away car after we had shipped our regular cars back to the states. I left before Ron did, and I think he sold it for $200 before he left. The thing would not die. I wonder how many more GIs drove it as a get away car after we left. Her name was Betsy.

Ha Betsy....Love it!

I think everyone had a car named Betsy. My neighbor's Mom had a Black 1965 Cadillac with a 428 named Betsy. His mom is still alive

Great idea, would be cool to have a Canadian specific model on the banner.
