The vent windows and sport mirrors are at odds on 1970 Sports Coupes. A friend has a red 70 442 W30 Sports coupe and I think the mirrors are in a different location than Holiday Coupe to clear the vent window, but they are hard to use in that location. Just trivia

Ryan,

I have the same single mirror as you do, but I do have a set of the sport mirrors which I am

not sure if I want to put them on this car or my rag top.  And I am not sure if I want to keep

the spoiler on it.  It isn't original to the car but it is an aftermarket and it was installed in the wrong

location.  I do like the look of it though.

Thank you for the trivia!

Finally an update.

I got a section of floor from a donor car cut for the area I need.

I also took out the gas tank and was very surprised that I didn't break any

of the bolts!  It did take a while and a lot of PB Blaster!

I also got the car fully supported on jack stands so the next step after the floor trimming and welding

will probably be to pull the rear end out or trying to get the remaining body bolts out.

And after looking closer at the trunk lid, it looks like that was replaced at one time also because

you can see some of the holes for trim that got filled in.  I may or may not use it, but probably not seeing

as I won't be putting the spoiler on it.

On a side note, when I pulled out the 4 speed trans, I looked up the codes and it came

from a 1966 or 1967 Olds so that sux it isn't the original trans.  Maybe someone blew it

up from driving it hard!

Kevin,

A lot of these cars were abused and driven hard.....I am not surprised that original parts and gone and missing.

Thanks for the update. Keep it going.

Lorne is actually what I go by, and makes sense to use it here since there are 2 of us.

Sorry....You will always be Lawrence....and Larry will be Larry.
