My name is Norm and I go by the user name, forespeed.  I have owned many many cars and projects, primarily Chevy Novas and Canadian Acadians.  I have been a member of National Nostalgic Nova Club since 1984.  After a 35 year career at General Motors including a stint in the Marine Corp and a Vietnam Veteran. Following my retirement from GM, I started transporting antique and classic cars all over the U.S and Canada.

Currently my wife and I are in Saginaw, MI  April to Dec. and in Ft Myers, FL, Jan to March.  This has been our schedule for the last 8 years.  I have been lucky enough to have old cars while in Florida and Michigan.  I have spent the last 2 years restoring a vintage Gasser from 1969.  I'm affiliated with American Gasser Shop in Saginaw, Great Lakes Gassers and South East Gassers.

The reason I have joined this forum is I have purchased a 1966 biscayne 2dr post car.  As a car guy from the 60's, I have always really liked the sleeper cars.  I see my Biscayne as a sleeper even though it has the original 283 V-8, powerglide born with driveline.  I'm busy preparing for Florida and tweaking my truck so the Biscayne will stay as is for now.   I love the car as it is but over the winter I will think hard about building this car as a 427/425 class car.  In my opinion, the 66 and up Biscayne with the factory available 427/425 is the ultimate sleeper and NHRA class car.   I hope to find some people to exchange information with on this forum and look forward to learning all I can from this group of 2 dr post enthusiast and owners.

Hi Norm welcome aboard the crazy train to 2 door Postville. Guys on here are great and very friendly you will enjoy yourself. That is a great looking 66 you have there. My slightly biased view is the 66 is the pick of the bunch for 2 door posts.

Have fun

Welcome aboard from the Left Coast Norm. I agree these cars are the ultimate sleepers. Looking forward to your upgrades and changes to your 66. You will find a lot of good info and knowledge here, plus some fun too.

I'm waiting to see if my good friend Tom notices my post.  Coincidentally, I'm currently just south of his place.  I have traveled to "Level 10 Transmissions" in New Jersey to have the transmission updated on my truck to keep up with the supercharged, 535 hp  550 ft lbs of torque it now puts out.  I spend my winters in Ft Myers, FL and I have not always been able to have a hobby car while staying warm in the sun.  So, I thought why not tweak my truck so I can take it to Bradington on the weekends.  Once this transmission is dialed in I expect to be in the low 12's with my 6000#  Crewmax pickup.

Thanks for all the great comments.  I feel very much at home here because the basic 2 dr post or coupes (as in Nova) have been a great part of my history.  In 1965 I worked at the Chevrolet Flint V-8 engine plant on the 2nd shift.  That meant we were street racing almost every night after work.  I worked there building 283 & 327 SBC's and those two are still near and dear to my heart.  The 66 Biscayne has a 283 and my gasser runs a 327 w/2 Holley's.

This is one of the many Nova's I built over the years.    I will post my gasser story in member's rides if that is okay.
