Damir,

Welcome to the forum. I really like your Bel Air. My wife and I lived in Germany for 6 years on two separate US Air Force Assignments. We lived in Zweibrucken and Heidelberg. Our older daughter was born in Landstuhl. We now live in California. Did you find your car in Germany or did you have to import it? I know there used to be salvage yards that specialized in American cars, I wonder if any still exist?

Looking forward to more details on your car and the reaction to it from other folks in Europe.

Pat

 Hey

Heidelberg is just an hour away from me, and I used to visit a friend in Saarbrücken which is near Zweibrücken. How did you like it there? I'm not aware if there still exist that kind of salvage yards, I  believe they are long gone

I like the stance of my Starfire toobiggrin It's lowered 3" all around, wheels are Rocket Racing with old Bias Ply Tires

I like to drive my cars everywhere, the one pic was takrn in Pula/Croatia

Zweibrucken and Heidelberg were very different. Small city compared to bigger city. Also we were in Zwiebrucken in 1973-1976 and Heidelberg in 1988-1991. Many things changed in Germany during that time. We enjoyed both of them, I think I liked Zweibrucken better just because things were more old fashioned.

The salvage yard I remember was in Sembach, and there were a lot of Americans in Kaiserslautern and Ramstein area. I think there are still quite a few there. Maybe the salvage yard is still there, but probably not many old American cars. Good for you driving your cars everywhere, I will mention you when my friends say they are worried to drive theirs here in America. LOL

I'll try to find out about that salvage yard in Sembach. Could be interesting
