My car has lights on the fender corners like an Impala or Caprice.  If I can find some decent ones, I would like to replace them with correct "plate - front trim" as they are called in the Assembly Manual.  There are right and left sides.   Anyone have a pair to sell or know where I might find them?

Yup, those are the ones. Thanks Dan. It's hard to figure what previous owners were thinking on this car. Very much crossed themes. When the guy I bought it from got it, it had an Impala rear bumper, the lights on the front fenders makes you wonder if maybe the front sheet metal was replaced with parts from an Impala. It also had an electric front seat(gone) and still has a tilt steering column. Then it has tow tabs, and the battery and a fuel cell in the trunk. Poor car was very confused!

Sorry Pat ,I wish I still had the set off the Belair. Sold them to my buddy for his wife's convertible. They were in need of a rechrome ☹️I have seen some pretty decent ones on evelbay though. I also looked at some Texas junkyards online, they had some parts cars there with good chrome on them. They are year specific to 68 ( captain obvious here ) they were used as standard equipment on all models Biscayne,Belair,Wagon,Sport Coupe and Impala 2 dr 4 dr sedan and hardtop included( not sure about Caprice)The fender corner lamps that you have were an option. Hard to find and worth some $$$ on eBay. Rare enough that when I was parting out my Belair I had a guy call me from California looking for the lamps! I think you could find the standard set you are looking for and make a good prophet on the lamps you have= free parts and some extra cash left over.

Thanks guys, I have been trying to figure out what search terms to use. Any suggestions? Trim plates seems so vague.

I searched for 68 Impala Corner Trim and found a driver quality left side for $15 and bought it.  There are some NOS pieces on there for $250 for a left side or $350 for a pair.  A little more than I want to spend.  Now that I know how to search I will be watching for a right side.

Sometimes I look up the GM part number or the part name
Official part name is called. plate – front trim L & R. H.
Part number 3920823–4

I also have called this a fender extension or trim, fender cap or moulding may help in the search. I just never know what someone's going to call the part besides what it really is especially on eBay!Sometimes that has helped me in my search for parts for my car

Pat I love that you are getting it Correct. I too strive for that. Just curious- for both the Impala rear bumper and the front corner lamps, was there wiring and sockets present when you got the car?

Pat, I too commend you on getting your car correct. That't the way to go, for sure. It's for that reason that I got the correct radio delete plate and the correct Hurst shifter handle for my old Buick.

As you may know I am not going for 100% correct. My target is to mimic my original Biscayne which was a 'Day 2" car with headers, Hurst shifter, Sun tach etc. I had also put a Lakewood scatter shield in it, but probably will not do that for this one. But I do want the car to appear correct for the era if a person does not dive in too deep.

Thanks to all of your for your help and knowledge.
