Tom,

You need this installed on the Buick - before you pull her out of the trailer at PSMCDR`s

Just had an all day long party, and it's late. I'll post more pics tomorrow, and thanks for the compliments, it is one of the most original cars I've ever seen.

Looking forward to more Buick pictures

As you installed the 4:10 gear.....did you stay with the original Buick 10 bolt.....or did you go with a 12 bolt rear?
What size converter in the trans?

Dan

more pics

Engine is .030 Buick 350 with flat top forged pistons, block was decked to make it square and true with crank, heads milled .010 to ensure flatness and given a standard valve job, lots of attention given to clearances and the oiling system, Factory cam(Lets just say it came from a Factory that iswink) Final compression is a true measured and calculated 11.66 to 1. We can legally go 1.5 point of compression over advertised as per the rules. 10.25 was stock +1.5 would be 11.75, so we left a little on the table.

Th 350 rebuilt with shift improvements, and a stock GM tight 12" converter, sloppy converters don't work when trying to launch on small tires and Ill prepped tracks.

Rear is a 1972 8.5" 10 bolt with 4.10 gear/Positraction.

Stock springs and spiral shocks.

All of this will be installed next winter to be ready for 2016 season, she won't be done this year.

Going to be removing what is probably the most mint rubber GM floor in existence and installing carpet(it's lighter)  If someone knows someone restoring a car that needs GM floor, I will be selling it, but it won't be cheap. The aftermarket rubber floors are junk, and they don't fit or look right.

Thats all for now. Neat website you have here.

Tom,

We think a lot alike on the license plate

Yes.....indeed those rubber mats at SUPER RARE! I too have one perfect condition rubber mat. I agree, who ever wants it.....needs to step up to the plate to buy it....as they are extremely rare. Plus - A Buick Rubber Mat is very unique - as they are Buick Specific.....they have their own rubber texture and pattern.

Tom - I look forward to the seeing your Buick at PSMCDR`s in 2016.

Great pics.....please keep us posted on your progress. Thanks for sharing.

Dan

Too bad the mat is Buick specific - Dan you're a treasure trove of knowledge.

Tom what color is the mat and if you'd like, PM me the price or post it up, whatever you're comfortable with.

Also, do you have any dyno numbers on the engine? If not, what's your best guess for HP and Torque. I think the stock hi-compression 350 was rated at 280?
