Thank you Lawrence and Pat..... Yes I was sore.....for a week my body hurt

To this day...I have the mangled license plate off the S-10. Every time I drive by the crash site on I-55....I let my wife and daughter know.....what a Blessed Man I am.

Too funny, Dan. I appreciate it. I wonder if I missed the boat on the Ontario car I was interested in about a year ago. However, within the next few years, I'm thinking prices should drop as boomers get out of the hobby. Time will tell....

I agree.....I have been saying this for the past few years.....it is happening right now as we speak.....Mecum Kissimmee is having record breaking results due to the "Baby Boomers" beginning to get out of the hobby.

The next few years will be very exciting for a car guys finding and buying their dream cars.

Clarkie.....this includes YOU

Project BEASTCAYNE

This is the beginning of "Project BEASTCAYNE"
Here are a few pictures of the parts I am collecting to transform the mild mannered 6 cyl car into a nice V-8 powered Street Brawler!
GM ASA cam and springs. It's mild for today's standards for the L/S engine but it makes good torque " under the curve" Air lift bag for the right rear spring for a bit of "Pre Load" of the rear suspension to help create lift instead of the dreaded "squat".Β A cold air intake I will modify to my application. Stewart Warner green line gauges. All the parts to rebuild my front suspension. 1/2 of my disc brake/ dropped spindle convention(the rest is on back order and eta is mid February) I have Global West adjustable upper rear control arms coming ( thank you very much Geof)! I have orders in for the line-loc , rear urethane suspension bushings and a driveshaft loop. I am going over to my buddy's tonite to get the parts list started for my 12 bolt. I will continue to buy the parts needed to complete the suspension upgrades for this part of the project. I will get all I need to complete this and begin work once I have all I need to do this. I work this way so as to not have the car down for extended periods of time. I will update as parts trickle in.

The gauges are 2 1/16" with the oil pressure and water temp being date coded 1969 and 1970. The volt meter is s new repo I did not feel safe running the original amp meter I had. The water temp gauge needs a new probe. I talked to Bobs Spedometer, they want $400 to fix it!!!! I may get a new one to match it! I have looked at pods for them and have yet to find one in good condition for a reasonable price. Thank you for the tip on the rubber boosts! All help is appreciated πŸ˜„

I am familiar with the prices involved with these gauges.....even the real genuine three gauge pods are not cheap. The repops are clearly noticeable
The two dated SW gauges you have are worth good money with those dates

What mufflers are you going to use? Knockouts?

I like Borla Pro XS Mufflers

I'm thinking these walker # 18160 as they flow really well and are quiet.( I like the stealthy tinny sound) I will not be running tailpipes so I want to keep the drone down to a minimum lol. But I will be getting something more aggressive to swap out on the weekends that I am out trolling! I like the Borla's as well!! I still am on the fence with what to do about the gauges! I'm sure the right parts will find themselves my way!

I am also a fan of the Walkers.....Buick guys love the Walkers.....you will be fine with either the Borla or Walkers.....both a quality product.
If you do want a quiet muffler....the Borla Pro XS are more quiet than the Borla XR1......but either are loader than the Walkers.

You are correct.....the right parts will find you

Lawrence, parts pile is lookin' good. I happen to be in the middle of a ls conversion myself on my 83 c10. right now i'm at the crossroad of injection or carb. Carb would be cheaper and more oldschool but we all know what injection will give you. Interested in seeing your fuel delivery setup. That cam will sound AWESOME!!!
