Dan it was great to see you on Friday! Long day up here for ya! Glad you made it home safe. I really appreciate our friendship as well-Priceless!Thanks for the kind words and compliments.
Ryan and Pat thanks for the comments I hope that our paths will cross soon and we can share some fun times getting to know each other better!
Man I tell ya I really blew the sleeper thing along the way. I know it’s the rear tires how the car sits and the rumbling exhaust but omg the last 3 out 4 times I have been out I have had someone wanting to race me lol. On the way down to Leigh’s shop to meet Dan a guy in a mid 2000’s BMW M-3 keept pulling along side of me and downshifting and blipping the throttle. I just waved at him and shook my head no. After the third time he did this I just blipped the throttle a little so he could hear me a bit lol! It has not mattered what time of day or night this is crazy and will take a bit of getting use to. I have resisted so far but I’m looking forward to seeing what this combination is capable of. I’ll keep you all “posted”
Larry

Great shots, Dan! I simply love what you have done with this car, Larry. Hard to believe, considering how much surgery it needed, you are an amazing craftsman.

LOL Larry, Good choice, an M3 is not worthy, now a modded M5 may be a scalp worth having.

Thanks for the comments etc Mr Clarke and Pat, much appreciated that you take interest of my car and the progress!
Well today May 14 I had a date with the Dyno!!! I am super happy with what Rich Gala at Motor City Speed has done with my
Car! Great to deal with!! He took my car from a basically stock truck tune that ran, through about 6 or 7 pulls with amazing results. I drove in at 8 and drove the car home about 12:30. Wow what a difference in the drive and power!😀 I am installing a extra bung in my exhaust and am scheduling a hour or so of drivability because Rich said he could smooth it out even more! Amazing what a pro can do with EFI!  Anyway here’s some pics and a link to the last run on the Dyno.

Enjoy

7D91CE44-9EC3-4EFE-9E0D-6943260F207D.pngJust a quick update,I have been driving the car a bit and have enjoyed some shows and driving experiences etc. I should be able to get the street tuning done this week and will be heading to the track soon for some baseline runs. I have installed a 160 degree thermostat and opened up the core support to allow some fresh air into the air cleaner per a suggestion from my tuner. I will be building a box to isolate it in the near future. I also found out my car is the banner car for a cruise night at M-1 Concourse! Wow what an honor I’m

Your tuner is right on, cold air made a significant difference for my Studebaker. When the computer gets warm air signals from the IAT sensor it pulls timing out. Hurts power and fuel mileage.

Pat you are so right. We got about 2 hours of street tuning/ drivability done this week. I was having a issue with it ideling to high and my cheapie scanner showed me nothing. I knew there were no mechanical issues or vacuum leaks on it.With the tuning software we found a inconsistent voltage reading with the tps. This higher voltage reading caused the computer to think the throttle was not fully closed, this causes the iac valve to adjust according to the tps signal. The iac is a controlled vacuum leak if you will, this was causing the higher and irratic idle speed. It acted ok for a bit and at the end of tuning session it was acting up even with resetting it.The next day I installed a new ACDelco unit an took it out for a “learning session”MAN what a difference. The next day was even better! We still have a bit of work to do with this. It is Wayyy better And the fuel consumption is wayyy lower than it was on the base and Dyno tune. And the car now idles at 875-900 RPM!(Instead of 1200 or so).My tuner has tamed the Beast. The car is an absolute dream to drive. We still have a few things to work out , 2-3 upshift at WOT on the trans (we are getting 100 percent throttle opening confirmed on the Dyno)and a few minor adjustments for Drive ability.Rich says he can make it behave even better!! I’m beside myself with how well this is all going! I’m sooooo glad I switched to EFI! Pat Thanks for your support comments and suggestions with your experience with the L/S swap and efi systems-it is much appreciated and invaluable to me!

I knew it was only a few days of dyno tuning before you got the bugs out of her.

It’s time for some video footage

Well done!

That great news Larry, and you just gave me something to check on mine. I also have a high idle issue, though not as high as yours. I will check my TPS voltage. Glad my experience has been helpful. For drivability you just cannot beat the LS motors. Power's pretty good too!

Pat
