Very impressive Larry, I certainly admire your attention to detail and patience in getting everything just right! After drag week are you mentally picking out the location for a turbo(s)?

As Dan said, a start-up video can't be far off now.

Pat

Thank you very much Pat this thing has snowballed a bit from my original plan. I will tell you that part of my original plan before I even got the car was to turbocharge it. Now with driving and riding impressions of buddy's 65 and the last 2 seasons of seeing big single turbos on the street, I am leaning heavily towards smaller twins as I do mostly street driving with limited track time as of now. My plan is to have the trans in by the end of the week and within 3-4 weeks be able to at least Fire the car! I still have some wiring a fuel system and exhaust systems to do yet.

Tommy,Dan,Mr Clarke,Pat,Kevin and Al I really do appreciate you all taking notice of my project and all the great comments on my work. Tommy ,I'm sure I will end up popping the hood at a few cruse nights, I just don't plan on doing much of it on the street. Most of the guys I hang out with already know the set up in my car and really who do I think I can fool running around late at night with Drag radials on the car anyway lol! I have started rumors and storys to others though so there will be some confusion about what it is and what size the engine is induction set up etc etc. To anyone that asks that I don't know I tell them it's a small block.I wish I had a start up video to add here but I do not. I have a million excuses but none hold much water so I won't even try to convince you all lol. I have made some progress the trans and converter are in for good and there's a bunch of small stuff like modifying the dipstick tube and trans temp gauge sender chasing small parts, sensors. And some days I just have not worked on it. The end is near And my working 7 days for the last 9 weeks (I'm including Drag Week)is ending now. I will be able to devote a lot more time to the project soon. I Will Drive This Thing Before The Snow Flys!! Here's a couple shots of it. Once the headers are back on the car I will clean up the wiring for the trans and O2 sensors

Thanks for the pics- I really like the silver trans crossmember, That looks really cool to me, goes nice with the trans pan. Working overtime is hopefully balancing the cashflow for the 68. Cool antique bike, by the way!

Thanks Kevin I painted the trans crossmember that color because on these big B body's they were not painted just raw steel. I'm genuinely simulating the factory colors with paint on most of the car. I will be starting a thread on my findings and research on this subject over the winter. Good eye on the bike it's a repop of a 1937 Columbia.Oh indeed the OT has helped where I went with the car A lot!!

Well here is a quick update to the project. I am sooo close to the first start up! Lots of things have been done like locating the battery to the trunk with a alternator shut down relay and a master shut off switch. Tech AFX Trans cooler lines installed, gauges installed.check engine light installed,Torque converter lock up switch wired, shifter linkage, fuel pressure regulator bracket made and regulator installed. I have put the car on ramps and torqued all the suspension points. And a bunch of other "smalls" I can't remember off the top of my head. Yesterday after I got the car on ramps I went through the garage and did a major cleanup and organization. It helps me to do this as I get a refreshed/renewed perspective on what I have done and what's left to do. I will be measuring for a driveshaft and getting it built this week and I am dropping off my fuel tank for cleaning before I modify it for my fuel pump and tank drain! I picked up my fuel line and fittings today and will be getting the fuel system done asap!! I also have the accelerator pedal and linkage to work out.I love when a project gets to this point I can see light at the end of the tunnel!

Here's some shots of my progress!
My next update should include a start up video 😀

I agree.....Larry and I both discussed our passion for the black AFX hose and fittings.....IMO IT'S THE ONLY HOSE COMBO FOR ANY LS ENGINE.

It's getting very exciting NOW! LOVE IT!
