Let's talk tires, specifically front ones.

My Biscayne currently has 225/60-15 BF Goodrich TA radials on 8 x 15 rallys on the front.  While that is a nice tire and wheel combo it is not the look I am going for, too short and wide.  I don't plan on any corner carving with this car, primarily cruising and the occasional blast down the strip.  The original 15 inch tire that would have come on this car was an 8.15-15 and conversion charts list 215/75-15 as the equivalent.  I have been looking over at Tirerack.com at various tires and they vary in tread width from 5.3 to 6.5 with a diameter of about 27.7.  I like the diameter as that is not far off the 28" diameter that my 275/60-15 TAs on the back have.  What I am not enthused about from the tires I see over there is they all seem to have a graphic of some kind molded into the side wall which definitely does not fit with a 60s-70s look.  I have already lined up a pair of 6 x 15 Rally wheels to mount skinnier tires on.

So, can anyone suggest a tire brand that has a more subtle sidewall without going to Coker or Diamond Back?  I just want a simple radial tire that is S or T rated and has a more vintage look.

Thanks, Pat

In my defense, I wasn't aware that Marks weren't. But you're right, I'm handsome but not too bright.  wink

I am running 215/70/15 on a 6" rim in frt. I'm not a fan of 8" frt rims unless its a corner carver.

No worries Gent, and thanks for the chuckle you guys.

Brian, yours looks great, pretty much what I am going for. Nice collection of photos you have in your photobucket link. Some bad a$$ cars there.
