My chevelle has always had traction problems. This year I'm going on a quest for TRACTION! The frontend doesn't rise much on launch, so I'm thinking of trying moroso or santuff springs in the frontend.Anybody tried these, any other brands? I've already got adjustable control arms in the rearend and pinion angle set at 3 degrees, sticky et drag radials.Best time is 12.01 / 116 in Dallas. Looking for better.Suggestions welcomed! Thanks in advance my friends.180.jpg

TRACTION is a MYTH...Made evident by 2 long black lines...biggrin

Did a little shopping this week. http://www.spohn.net/. Ive bought from them before and really like the quality.I got there rear control arms with their non binding bushing.Maybe that will free up the rear suspension. For the front Ive been kinda concerned about the lower control arms.I have read of some people developing cracks at the ball joint and it coming apart(not good!).Mine aren't cracked but for peice of mind I bought some Global West tubular lower control arms with the delum bushings.I also bought a delum kit for the uppers. I also decided while I was there that I would upgrade the brakes so a 11 inch wilwood kit is on the way. Should save some pounds and stop well. The delum bushings should make everything work bind free. Quest for TRACTION! I'll be busy this weekend for sure but can't wait.

I haven't made much progress. Ended up getting the wrong upper control arm stuff. got the new springs, brakes, and lower control arms.the springs are moog 5230.Should give me alot of stored energy! The old springs are hotchkis bigblock springs 1inch drop, and they were stiff.Got all the rearend parts but I'm waiting till the front is done.IMG_20150312_174252_090[1].jpgIMG_20150312_182835_823[1].jpgIMG_20150312_184242_547[1].jpg

There is a new drag radial that is supposed to work with stick cars. More of a strip only type tire than a street tire. Much like the ET street bias ply I was told.

Rob,I've seen the Mickey Thompson drag tires in magazines and on the internet. They might be worth a try.Back when I had my 67 chevelle ss I tried some m|h racemasters. They were very impressive! I found my weak link with those tires LOL. They still make those, but back then they had tubes and now the ones listed are tubeless. Could be better or worse, but definitely lighter.

Theres a guy on Yellowbullet and here too I think that has a blue 66 300 like yours. He has old Weld draglites with adapters to run dogdish caps. Lighter wheel combo with good tires,If you see who Im talking about, might hit him up,he drag races his car and does well.

I have the adapters on my Buick.....it's a slick set up. Plus - no worries.....they will never come flying off. They are on much lighter than a stock dod dish. THESE ARE MADE FOR THE DRAG RACE enthusiast....but look the part to be stock.

I pm,d Aaron (1320-300) for some pointers and Ive seen the post on the hubcap adapters.Dan did you use weld wheels with your setup? I can see how that would drop some pounds.
