Still clear enough....to make someone do the WRONG thing....Sorry I am super sensitive to this.....and I WILL ALWAYS try my best to protect our hobby.
If this keeps up, there will certainly be someone saying I have car number 8

I want to decode the Protectoplate next, I think this will tell me the rear gear ratio story before I brave the cold to check driveshaft revolutions vs rear tire revolutions...

Posi rear as I turned one rear wheel the other rear tire turns the same direction

Ratio? One revolution of a rear tire equals 3.4 turns of the driveshaft, unless I am doing it wrong looks like a 3.42:1 posi to me?

Oldsmobile POP has only basic info on the car VIN, date the car was placed into service, dealer code, and one number I haven't figured out yet, one website says it is the mileage when the warranty expires but too many digits for that?

Check the two letter axle tube code on the passenger side.....just like a Chevy

The stamping could be upside down.....as the rear ends and the frame were inverted going down the assembly line.

3.42 could be possible.....if someone had changed it for more drivability.....vs. a 3.91.

Best way is to have both wheels off the ground, remove a tire and brake drum. Mark a spot on the axle flange corresponding with a mark on the brake cylinder.
At the same time, make a mark on the diff yoke and one on the pumpkin snout. Now, rotate the axle flange, counting each revolution while someone else counts revolutions on the yoke.

Yep, why do you think.....all the guys on CO's forum call it a Sports Coupe......to me it will always be a Post SEDAN

Calling it a Sports Coupe Post Sedan is sacrilegious.
