removing signal/ cruise arm, 84 Monte Carlo

I have removed the signal arm after unbolting the upper housing and now need to know how to remove the stem ass'y to change the arm. Henry

Henry,
I believe the wiring harness attached to the turning indicator assy has to be unplugged from the plug on the column, and pulled out thru the housing...after the 3 screws have been removed. (4 screws: 1 for the signal arm, black...7mm socket head, and 3 for the indicator assy, silver...phillips head).

Hi and thanks. I am well passed that, I need to know how to get the lever off the swivel bracket as the pic's of the replacement show it inserts back into the swivel block.

Twist it towards the dash, just slightly, then pull.

Thanks guys, IT'S OUT.
I practiced on my spare column then tried the 57 but it would not come out, I cut off the plastic and put vicegrips on it and forced it out. Once it was put back in it came out easy******
