Matt,

Great progress......what is that hanging on the garage wall.....between the breaker box and 4 plug electric socket? It is a cream color with a long curly cord? LOL

Right, I actually have a hardwired landline phone still active.  Doesn't get used much, if at all.  When it rings, it just rattles.  It was here when we moved in, and I decided to leave it as a working relic!

I have an old, working, table-top version. It's mainly used for display and its ringtone.

i love that 65 , it would be real orig if you kept the 389 but i figure the 455 will give you more hp

your 2 nd pic reminds me of one dumb mistake i made when i took the frame off my Beaumont

i forgot to run the fuel line before putting it back on the framebiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

much  sweat  latter  the  fuel  line  went  in there  with   no  kinks

I had a second chance on the chassis.  The body was put on the chassis in 2006.  10 years later the body came off again, and I had the opportunity to go over the entire chassis, repaint it and install all the parts.  I didn't have the plumbing on my car either until last fall...much easier to clip into place without the body in the road.

I got over keeping my car original a very long time ago.  I wanted a car that "looked" all factory Pontiac, but could perform.  I added a lot of hard to find performance parts and accessories too.  The original 2bbl 389 was gone when I found the car in 2000.  It had a '76 WT or WY 400 from a 4 speed F Body...how's that for a surprise.  I looked for a 421 for awhile, but decided a 455 would be easier to locate.  I had all the brackets and other parts to keep it looking like a '65 engine, so that's what I did.

In the end, what I cobbled together will be more fun for me, and more interesting for viewing public.

I had a 66 2+2, 421, 4 speed blue with white interior. It was the car I had when I found my Biscayne. Poor thing had been beat to death and I should have known better when I bought it. But it was still fun while it lasted. I have always had a warm place for the 65 and 66 Ponchos. Really enjoying your build thread.

It's getting closer, but c'mon....

This is what "paint jail" looks like.  I hired out to have the body and paint done...it's been a long time since it was home.
