Nice! It looks like two more post cars came up right after it, another Biscayne and possibly an early Tempest or Cutlass.

decided I was done buying cars...unless, it's a 1960 Biscayne - I'd definitely sneak one home - and there's really just one reason, a lifetime of hearing the mention in one of my favorite songs...
"Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy
Workin' on mysteries without any clues
Workin' on our night moves.."

yeah - that'd be pretty darn cool....

on an interesting note - this past summer I was at a local event - younger guy ( 30's) was standing by this 1962 black biscayne - it had the dealer emblem from where my granddad worked on the back... had cheater slicks on steelies ( bias plies) A 2x4bbl cross ram 327 and a 4 spd and every piece of paper documenting the car. We got to talking - I told him about my Granddad etc and he gave me the story on the car:
His great grandmother needed a car to pull a camper - this car was inside the showroom at Scott Chevrolet in OKC - she bought the car and drove it home. That evening, Great granddad took that car for a spin and told her " You aren't driving that thing!" - he proceeded to buy her a station wagon - he kept the car ( he was already a weekend bracket racer) he raced the car for several years - sold it to his grandson for a dollar - and then the grandson sold it to his son ( the 30something guy) for a dollar - he stores it about a mile down the road from where I am now.
He told me his Great-Granddad's starting line ritual was to spit out his chewing tobacco onto the car floor - rinse his mouth out with bourbon he kept under the seat and spit that on the floor as well - and after the races - his grandmother would hose the car out and let it air dry w the doors open.
The car is unrestored/original except for the addition of black pile carpet. He said they expected the floors to be rotted out from Great Grandpa's and Great Grandma's rituals with it - but it was perfect. To this day he say's " if the car has been closed up and it's hot outside"- ( Oklahoma - we get HOT!) -"when you get inside - you still get a strong whiff of bourbon and the sweet chewing tobacco smell"
I told him that is THE BEST car story I have ever heard - and if he EVER sells that car - Just Don't!
Next time I see it I will post it on here... don't know how rare it is - but it sure is a time capsule!
