Those hubcap adapters are cool!

Do you used the hub caps over the Welds?   don't the holes show

funny you say that,I just placed one of my dog dish caps over my rear Welds I have and the cap covers damn near the whole holes, just a small hint of the Welds holes show with my 66 caps. Not sure on the 67 ones he is using,I need to get some adapters made up as well and maybe a used set of Welds to get powder coated white.

I still have my factory flat hood. With my old big block in the car it needed clearance. With the small block the car needs to be as light as possible for the ET. I am starting plans to build a twin turbo 383. She is going to have the flat hood on once again.

Aaron,

Good decision

I have sold all of my cowl hoods, except for the stock height cowl hoods.

Plus you will need to think about all that heat of the turbo's. I like a stock hood, sleeper look.....make some nice hood vents near the turbo's to help with the heat.

Build a 406 sb with 6" rods. It will run circles around a 383. Or .. 421 sb stroker. I'm into racing in both drag and oval track. A few years ago my bought a '64 chevelle post with a 383. It ran 12.30@ 110 mph no bottle . 11.30@ 120 with cheater system. Blew a rod on 3rd pass and destroyed the block. Bought a 406 with 6" rods 10:1 pistons and used the same cam heads and intake off the 383 and went 11.50 no bottle and 10.28 @ 125 on the bottle. Track wouldn't let him make any bottle runs after that as he needed more upgrades to be legal. At the oval track we run in the hit to pass class. One friend runs a 408 with 6"rods and another friend runs a 383. The 408 is in a '76 Malibu and the 383 is in a '77nova. The nova can't catch the Malibu even though it's 700lbs lighter with a veteran driver. And the 408 is only turning 5600 rpm and the 383 was turning 6200. That's just my experience on that. I know a guy with a 427 sb in s-10 pickup that run mid 10s no bottle.

I saw a guy building a twin turbo '66 chevelle ht with the turbos being rear mounted. He raised the trunk floor partly for clearance. Never saw it when finished. Just a shell when I saw it.

It has been suggested of me to do the same, and I have to agree.
I LOVE the first photo, with the steelies and DD hubcaps.

Great wheel and tire combo in both pictures. It's great to have two sets of wheels and tires that you can swap out in a whim and go cruising and have a totally different look.
