2doorpost.com has been created to pay tribute to late 1950's to early 1970's 2 door sedans. At that time these cars were usually sold to folks who were on a tight budget and many of these sedans came without many of the options we take for granted today. Power steering and brakes were often luxuries on these cars. A radio? Fugetaboutit!! Often you got a rubber floor mat instead of carpeting. It wasn't long before drag racers realized the benefits of the 2 door sedan body style. Being lighter than their hardtop counterparts and structurally stiffer, they were the perfect car to convert into a quarter mile terror. It wasn't long before the manufacturers were on board, offering their highest horsepower engines and 4 speed transmissions as options.
Many of these cars were also a terror on the streets. By simply removing the engine call-outs, it was difficult to tell if that Biscayne with the doggie dish hubcaps next to you at the lights had a straight six or a 427!
We celebrate all American 2 door sedans from this era, regardless of what's under the hood. Please spread the word about 2doorpost.com and don't forget; Plain is Cool!

Great site Everyone loves the 2 door muscle car
Back in the 60's a lightweight 2 door was the "Hot Setup"
Didn't hurt that they were also cheap to buy...
Nice to find a place, that celebrates a body style..... regardless of Make
